Franchises for veterans offer the opportunity not only to find a job but also to be own boss. Surveys show that one out of two veterans face some period of being unemployed. Compared to starting the business from scratch, veteran-friendly franchises come for sale with a proven business concept and support from a franchisor and fellow franchisees. One in seven franchises in the U.S. is owned by a veteran, according to VetFran, a special program which provides franchise opportunities for military veterans. The initial investments needed to buy such a franchise range from low cost (just from $495) to more costly depending on the brand and industry. Among the businesses which are successfully operated by veterans are Travel Agencies, Youth Sports, Commercial & Home Inspection Services, etc.
