How to distinguish a good franchise from scammers?

There aren't that many scam franchises out there. However, there are many of those that hide completely different products under the word “franchise”. There are also some franchisors that offer a low-quality franchise model, and they don’t have enough knowledge or experience for successful franchising. Before buying a franchise, collect as much information as possible about the selected company in order to avoid being scammed.

When selecting a franchise, find out the following about the brand: years of running, turnover, feedback from clients and partners, availability of certificates and licenses, the FDD, company policy, franchise fees, and plans for the future. It is also essential to show a franchise agreement to the attorneys before signing it.
