The founder of the bar is Jesse Avshalomov (Jesse Avshalomov), who chose early August due to summer weather and remoteness from other beer festivals. The first day of beer was held in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California, USA. By 2011, it had evolved from a local festival to an international holiday celebrated in 138 cities in 23 countries, and by 2012 it had already been celebrated in 207 cities in 50 countries on 5 continents.
